Mansfield, Tx. is a town in Ellis, Johnson, and Tarrant Counties in the State of Texas.

Mansfield is located at 32°34′38″N 97°7′36″W (32.577087, -97.126699).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 36.5 square miles (94.6 km²). 36.5 square miles (94.5 km²) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km²) of it (0.11%) is water.

At the 2000 census there were 28,031 people, 8,881 households, and 7,646 families residing in the city.

Students living in the Tarrant County portion of Mansfield, as well as most of those living in the Johnson County portion, are served by the Mansfield Independent School District, with the remainder being served by Midlothian Independent School District. The high schools in the district are Mansfield High School, Mansfield Summit High School, Mansfield Timberview High School, Mansfield Legacy High School, Frontier High School, and the Alternative Education Center consisting of the ACE program and the BIC program. There are 21 elementary schools, 6 intermediate schools, and 6 middle schools.

Mansfield is a City in Texas with an estimated population of 73,000 in 2020. It’s situated in Tarrant County, in central/Northeast Texas.


The first settler in the Mansfield area was Charles Turner, he established a grist or sawmill in 1853. The first steam-powered grist mill in north Texas was built in 1856.

123 from Mansfield joined the confederate army, leaving just 2 males under the age if 45 in the settlement in 1861. Mansfield’s first co-educational school is established in 1869 by John Collier, Mansfield Male and Female college. The salt creek massacre occurs in 1871, which leads to severe change in the views of Americans towards the natives. The first native Americans were tried for murder under civil war in this case.

Mansfield had a population of just 249 in 1880. Tarrant County’s oldest newspaper, the Mansfield Chronicle was first published in 1883. Mansfield is connected to the railroad for the first time in 1886.

Mansfield was incorporated to the United States on August 23rd, 1890, meaning it becomes officially recognised, can elect its own officials and their own police and fire departments. Oil was found in 1894 in nearby Corsicana, leading to population growth in the area.

First Telephone line is installed in 1905 by Joseph Edwards. Miriam Ferguson, the first female Texan governor is elected in 1924. City Library Is opened in 1929. The city’s purchases its first police vehicle in 1956. From 1961 to 2010, the city’s population grows from 1300 to 56,000.
